Encounter of Santander
Enrique Lapaz has been awarded first prize in the XXII International Competition ‘Ricard Viñes’. He is also prize-winner of the International Piano Competition in Valencia ‘Premio Iturbi’ and the International Competition ‘Sergey Prokofifiev’ in St. Petersburg.
Enrique has performed in major concert halls in Spain, like the National Auditorium of Madrid, Palau de la Música, Zaragoza Auditorium, and he has also performed in Russia, France, Germany, England, Belarus, Switzerland, Norway, Colombia, Lithuania and Estonia. As a soloist he has performed on numerous occasions with formations like The Valencia Symphony Orchestra, the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, the UA Symphony Orchestra, the Capella Orchestra of Saint Petersburg or the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, with the conductors A. Chernushenko, M. Glinka, M. Ignat, J. Ross or P. Heras-Casado.
Highlights its participation in different cycles and festivals of the international scene as the cycle of ‘Performers of Chamber Music' at the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, ‘Simfònics al Palau’ in Barcelona, the 'XIX International Music Festival Evgeny Mravinsky' of Estonia, the 'VI International Festival Gavrilin’ in Russia or the 'XXVII International Festival of the Sofia Cathedral' in Belarus. His performances has been broadcast in the Public Spanish television 'TVE2' and 'Radio Clasica de RTVE' and 'Catalunya Radio'.
Enrique Lapaz began his musical studies with the french Professor Joseph Mardon. He obtained a DMA degree (Doctor in Musical Arts) at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg with the Professor Nina Seregina. From 2014 to 2018 he studied with Dimitri Bashkirov and Denis Lossev at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid where during the 2014/15 and 2015/16 course Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain, awarded him with the prize for the most outstanding student of the chair.
Currently, he teaches at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid.
